Best Product to Get Glam This Valentine’s Day

Despite the probability of being home for this Valentine’s Day due to a pandemic, you can still get dressed up and looking fancy for a night in, because why not?! You’ve already got the date ideas, the meals planned, and the gift, so why not add the cherry on top to make it feel special? Plus, these tips mean that you get to have an extra day of pampering (because you need a prep day of course!) 😏

The day before Valentine’s Day:

This is the day you want to treat your skin to luxury. Here are my favourite products and tips!

  1. Exfoliation is key, and you need to do it everywhere!

For the face: Watermelon + AHA Glow Sleeping Mask – $59.00 from Sephora

Price friendly alternative: The Ordinary Lactic Acid 5% +HA – $6.50 from Sephora

These products are considered chemical exfoliation, meaning they are less abrasive than traditional exfoliants. Apply them after you cleanse, and just before you put on your nightly moisturizer. You will wake up to baby soft skin the next morning!

For the body: OGX Coffee Coconut Scrub – $6.97 at Walmart

This scrub is the ultimate luxury for a super cheap price! It has tiny beads, but does not leave your skin feeling irritated. Plus, you end up smelling like a delicious cafe latte!

*I also use an exfoliating glove with this scrub to make it extra effective!

  1. Follow with moisturizer!

For the face: I like to give my face an extra boost of hydration, so I usually apply an overnight mask. My favorite is the Thirsty Mud 24-Hour Hydrating Treatment Face Mask by Glam Glow- ranges from $33.00-$108 depending on size.

(I wrote a previous post about this product- check it out:

If you want to be cost effective, add a smidge of coconut oil to your moisturizer. And I do mean a smidge! A little goes a long way, and you don’t want to over do it.

For your body:  Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion- $8.99 at Shopper’s Drug Mart

As much as I would love to include a super luxurious item in this category, it’s not necessary. This lotion does everything you need for a great cost! It is fragrance free, so if you want something extra, again, add a little bit of coconut oil to spice it up!

*BONUS TIP! Give your feet some loving too! Exfoliate and apply lotion with the above products, then slip on some cozy socks so that it can soak in overnight! Your feet will feel like a baby’s bottom in the morning!

Valentine’s Day:

  1. Cleanse your face and apply your daytime moisturizer! One of my go-to cleanser’s is First Aid Beauty’s Pure Skin Facial Cleanser- $29.00 at Sephora

The formula is gentle and suitable for all skin types.

  1. Time to put on foundation. I recommend Makeup Forever Matte Velvet – $50.00 at Sephora

Of course, you can opt for a tinted moisturizer, but if you want a glam look, try foundation instead to really amp it up!

  1. Apply your favourite blush, brow product, and eyeshadow palette. For the sake of this post not being 30 pages long, I won’t include recommendations for this. However, I will provide one for the lips: Maybelline SuperStay Matte Ink -$12.49 at Shopper’s Drug Mart

The color in the photo is “Individualist”. It is a great orange/red for Valentine’s Day! I opt for a darker, almost purple color being I have a cool skin tone. The name of that one is “Believer”.

These formulas stay on all day! I usually put on a gloss over top to avoid drying, but even when that wears off, your lips feel comfortable, and it looks like you just applied it! Plus, the amount of pigment you get is higher quality than they charge for. You really can’t go wrong.

I don’t know about you guys, but I’m feeling glam already! Let us know if you end up trying any of these products! Also, remember to have fun! That’s what it’s all about!

Good luck!

  • Jess 🙂
