Happy Monday. Today, I am drinking a highly caffeinated tea called electric lemonade from David’s Tea. This wasn’t originally the topic that I had for this week. However, after writing last week’s post, I decided I wanted to share more self-love, especially with Covid and Valentine’s Day around the corner. I find many people struggle with loving themselves when they don’t have a significant other around Valentine’s Day, so why not have a 28-day self-love challenge in February. Here is a 28 days of self-love challenge.

Day 1: Declutter
Having a clean space allows you to clear the negativity of your environment. If your space is messy and cluttered full of things, then you will feel messy and cluttered. By cleaning your space, you are clearing your mind. So, clean, cleanse, and declutter at least one thing. You don’t have to cleanse or declutter everything in one day, but doing one little thing can make you feel so much better.
Day 2: Meditation
Take 5 minutes out of your day and meditate. Meditation is a beautiful thing to be able to control your thoughts. Your thoughts are very powerful things, and to just sit in them for a moment and completely understand yourself can change so much. If you are new to meditating, then you can check out my post on Meditation for Beginners.

Day 3: Hydration
Drinking water is so essential for your body, so today, drink half of your body weight in water. I have this in like one day because it is important to stay hydrated. However, you should incorporate this into your everyday life. So, from today forward, you should try to turn this into a habit rather than just one day of self-love because of a healthy body- a happy mind.
Day 4: Do Physical Activity
Even if it is just a walk, physical activity can change your mindset, mood, and day. If you are looking for a heavier workout to do, you can check out youtube videos, go to the gym, or join Jessica’s fitness coaching. Click here for a free guide.

Day 5: Journal About the Positive
Although Journalling should be an everyday activity, take today to just focus on yourself. Focus on how much you love yourself. So, ask yourself the following four questions and answer as positive as possible. Avoid any negativity.
- List 5 Reason Why You Love Yourself.
- If you were your best friend, what three qualities would make you want to be your best friend?
- List 1 thing that you aspire to do in your life and set up a plan to achieve it.
- List as many things you are grateful for and why you are grateful for them.
Day 6: Try Something New
Whether it is something you’ve always wanted to do or something you are scared of, then do it. Doing something new allows you to develop a new perspective on a situation. It gives you a whole unique experience. So, take the time today and try that recent activity.
Day 7: Spa Day
Whether you can go to the actual spa or just have a homemade spa day, then take a day and treat yourself. If you have an at-home spa, run a bath, put a face mask on, and relax. Read a book. Do everything that makes you happy. Take a day entirely for yourself.
Day 8: Wake up 2 Hours Earlier
Waking up early can be difficult, but it is much easier when you have plans. So wake up early and do everything you have always planned on doing. You can start your morning off positive before the rest of the day. Plan your morning the night before, but make sure you have a plan. Without a plan, it can make it difficult to wake up.
Day 9: Do something Creative
Having a creative outlook is always helpful. It can help you when you are in a bad mood, and it can be fun when you are in a good mood. Some ideas for creative activities:
- Paint a picture or a rock or a canvas.
- Knit something, sew something, crochet something.
- Write or read something
- Carve something
Day 10: Write a letter to yourself in one year
Writing a letter to yourself can be one of the most rewarding things. No matter what happens in your year, the letter will come and allow you to reflect on everything that has happened over the year. It allows you to see how your year has changed and how much you have grown. Check out this app that will email you your letter on the day that you choose.
Day 11: Get extra sleep.
Either go to bed one hour earlier or sleep in one hour later. Sleep in and allow yourself to take some time to just rest. Many people don’t get enough sleep, so why not try to get a little bit of extra sleep.
Day 12: Drink your favourite warm drink
Just sit and relax and have a cup of your favourite hot drink. Don’t watch movies or do unnecessary things. Just sit and absorb your drink. Think about the warmth. Think about the taste and smell. Just enjoy the drink.
Day 13: Unplug
Technology is a great invention, and there are so many things that it benefits. But, technology is not always positive. Social media has lots of negative aspects, but it is also about how you use social media. So, take days off of social media and enjoy real life.
Day 14: Celebrate yourself
Now, today is Valentine’s Day. So, spend the day celebrating yourself. Whether you are single or in a relationship, today is about you. It is about how much you love yourself and how amazing you are. Check out the blog post on being single for Valentine’s Day for some excellent tips on how to celebrate yourself today.

Day 15: Try a new routine
Routine is always a great way to feel organized and good about yourself. I have a very strong morning routine, but I struggle with finding the perfect night routine. So, try a new routine if you aren’t sure about your routine. It can allow you to feel productive, but it also can also allow you to find a new routine.
Day 16:Learn something new
Learn something new. Watch a youtube video about something you have always wanted to learn about. You can also subscribe to apps like skillshare, which has an excellent opportunity to learn different skills of all different kinds.
Day 17: Create an area in your place
Create a calming area in your place where you can just sit and do the things that make you happy. In this area, only allow positivity. You can use this area to do something that you love, or you can just use it as your meditation area. It is an area that you can focus on the positive and focus on yourself.
Day 18: Get rid of 3 things you don’t use
Take three things you no longer use to Good Will (or any other donations). This will declutter your house and allow you to feel cleansed, but it will also allow you to feel refreshed. You can also sell these objects on Kijiji or other places to make some extra money.
Day 19: Spend 10 minutes dancing to your favourite tunes
Have a dance party all by yourself and just go crazy. This will allow you to loosen up from all your stress and focus on being happy and free. Plus, it will enable you just to be yourself.
Day 20: Treat yourself
Get yourself some flowers, some chocolate, and ice cream. Treat yourself to 1 thing that you’ve wanted for a while. It can be simple or something a bit more expensive. Get yourself something that you’ve always wanted.
Day 21: Cook yourself something new
Cook something for yourself that you have always wanted to make. If you aren’t much of a cook, then try something simple. If you are an expert, then experiment and try something new.
Day 22: Do a random act of kindness
Do something for someone else. It can be something simple like paying for the next person’s food in the drive way or holding the door for someone. Write a letter to someone you haven’t talked to in ages. You can do anything, but just do one small thing for someone else.
Day 23: Text a Friend
Text a friend and tell them how important they are to you. We tend to forget about the little thing and the people we care about during our busy lives. So, take a few minutes out of your day and text a friend. Tell your friend how important they are in your life and make them feel appreciated.
Day 24: Get dressed up and take pictures
You can do this alone or with your friend, but get dressed up in something you feel pretty in and take pictures. Remember, you are beautiful. You don’t have to post these photos. Just take the pictures for you.
Day 25: Look in a mirror
Look in the mirror and tell yourself how beautiful you are and how much you love yourself. You are beautiful. If you find yourself picking the things you don’t like about yourself, see more things that you do. Focus on how amazing and beautiful you are.
Day 26: Make a sugar scrub
1 Cup of Granulated Sugar, ½ cup of Coconut oil, your favourite essential oil. This makes the perfect scrub. Do this before bed and curl up in your PJs and watch a movie.
Day 27: Movie Night
Invite some friends over, do a Netflix party with some friends, and watch one of your favourite movies. Curl up in a blanket with your favourite snacks and just enjoy.
Day 28: Reflect
To end the 28 Day Challenge, we end in reflection because it is super important to reflect on the things that impact your life. You can ask yourself many questions, but you can also decide and plan on how you would like to continue incorporating self-love in your life. Although this is a year-end reflection, it has some really good questions for you to think about when you want to complete your reflection.
I hope you found something in yourself throughout these past 28 days. You deserve moments in your day to focus on yourself and your potential. I hope you have a wonderful week.
