The One Thing I Know…

It is impossible to stop learning, and I believe this is a beautiful gift! It is so invigorating to think that we can experience awe and wonder throughout much of our lives. Something as simple as learning how to dill cucumbers or as vast as discovering the history of how mountains were formed. We have the ability to be captivated by books and stories of real and imaginary events. We have so much available to us. However, the thing about knowledge is that it has to be chosen. We, as humans, have the ability to open our minds to it, or dismiss/ignore it, and live in our tiny bubbles.

I look around me, and I see the importance of educating myself in the matters that are going on in the world today. First and foremost, I see a need for love and compassion. There continues to be despairing amounts of suffering among us.

If there is one thing I know, it is this: where there is love, there is no room for hate. It may still exist, but it cannot thrive. God’s greatest commandments are these: To love Him, and to love one another as ourselves.

Since the beginning of time, man has been against man. Wars of all kinds have come and gone in our time here. People murder, hate, and despise for reasons that don’t make sense. It’s all about us, and never about them. Selfishness is what we bleed. Human nature is fickle. I think we can have knowledge and educate ourselves all we want, but it is the action that we have such a hard time with. We can’t bear to let our own desires and flesh suffer in the benefit of someone else. That is why Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross changes everything. He displayed to us that his ways are not our ways. That is why I look to Him. Without Him, I am roaming life aimlessly with only my own truth of how the world should be. I don’t trust it.

I want you to know you are loved, friend- whomever you are, wherever you are, you are LOVED.

If no one has expressed this to you, I am right now. You are worthy, beautiful, valued and LOVED.

Until next post,

  • Jess 🙂
